Henri Sandoz & Cie., founded by Henri Frédéric Sandoz in the 1870s. Later, they produced complicated watches under the name of Cyma. Also, he later created a watchmaking firm in Malleray, Switzerland with the Schwob family and their new business was known as Tavannes Watch Co.
Since 1971 the Sandoz brand has been parceled off into four lines of production creating four separate brands: Sandoz Swiss (the highest quality), Sandoz Singapore, Sandoz Hong Kong, and Sandoz Spain, with each brand having their own line of watches.
By the time of Sandoz's death in 1913, many of the watches produced by the firm were made under the name of Henri Sandoz &Fils. The scant and scattered history of the Sandoz brand is palpable and becomes further diluted, as the Tavannes company also went by many other names such as Tavannes-Cyma, Bijou Watch Co., Tacy Watch Co., and Lisca. But it doesn't stop there.
From the 1970s, “the grooviest horological decade”, Sandoz merged its business with the extra-funky trends, this super cool timepiece, a Sandoz Monsoon automatic and calendar wristwatch, ref. 1776Z-64-8.
It is a self-winding watch with a caliber FHF 909, 25 jewels movement, day/date (quickset) and month indicator (changed with the rotation of the top crown), sweep second and Swiss made.
Beautiful blue dial with striking applied steel indices, matching luminous hands, dark blue inner bezel with a printed minute track and a recessed month indicator at 12.
The watch has a 39.3mm cushion case, all in stainless steel with dual crowns. Acrylic crystal. It is coming with a vintage ROY stainless steel two-piece bracelet.
It is in LOVELY condition! Runs very well and keep great time!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men's watches typically measure between 29-36mm (some larger, some smaller) wide excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women's watches from the 1900s-1970s were also somewhat smaller than today’s offerings in many cases. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust light, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
