This is a vintage Bulova Ardsley mechanical wristwatch dated from 1954.  

It is a manual wind watch powered by an original Bulova movement caliber 10BT, 17 jewels, sub-second hand, unadjusted, 45hours power reserve, 18,000 A/h, Swiss made.   

Original champagne dial with gold Arabic Numerals, gold hours marks, black minute track and gold matching hands. The sub-second hand is located at 6 o'clock position. The dial is also signed with Bulova on top. 

Cased in a 23.3x27mm rectangular case and fancy lug design, 10K rolled gold plate bezel and stainless steel back. It still has the original elegant crystal with four raised cross-shaped corners in the middle. 

It comes with a brand new red genuine leather two-piece Hadley-Roma strap. 

This wristwatch is in LOVERY condition. Runs very well and keeps great time!

BULOVA 

The Bulova Watch Company is a renowned American watchmaker with a rich history that spans over a century. The company was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old Czech immigrant, in New York City. Initially, Bulova focused on manufacturing and selling jewelry, including pocket watches. By 1911, the company began producing wristwatches, which were still considered relatively new at the time. By the 1920s, Bulova introduced various innovations that set them apart in the watch industry. 

In the 1970s, the Bulova Watch Company faced financial challenges and went through a series of ownership changes until 2008 when Citizen Watch Co. Ltd. of Japan purchased the Bulova Watch Company and formed the Citizen Watch America subsidiary. 

Today, Bulova continues to create a wide range of watches known for their precision, craftsmanship, and design. Their collections include both classic and contemporary styles, offering quartz, automatic, and precisionist movements. Bulova watches are celebrated for their quality and have remained a popular choice among watch enthusiasts worldwide. 

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size. 

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that. 

The condition is pre-owned. 
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
